Children & Youth
At Gustavus Adolphus, we believe children and youth are an important part of our church. We strive to create safe, welcoming, and engaging spaces where young people can grow in faith, build friendships, ask questions, and discover how God is at work in their lives.
Frolic Families (Birth–Preschool)
Frolic Families is a gathering for our youngest children and the adults who love them. Through stories, play, conversation, and community, families connect with one another while exploring faith together. Frolic Families typically meets on the first Sunday of each month between worship services in the church library.
Sunday School (Kindergarten–5th Grade)
Our Sunday School program helps children learn Bible stories, experience God’s love, and build lasting friendships. Classes meet each Sunday during the program year between worship services in our fun and engaging classroom space.
Confirmation (Grades 6-8)
Confirmation is a time for middle school youth to explore their faith more deeply, ask honest questions, and discover what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life. Confirmation classes meet each Sunday during the program year between worship services in our youth room.
High School Ministry (Grades 9–12)
Following confirmation, high school youth are invited to continue growing in faith through service opportunities, leadership roles, fellowship events, and meaningful conversations. We encourage our youth to become active participants in the life and ministry of the congregation.
Summer Ministries
We host Vacation Bible School for our preschool and elementary children. It is a week of learning, music, games, and faith formation supported by the whole congregation. Middle and high school youth also participate in service projects, special events, and activities that strengthen friendships and deepen their connection to God and their community. We also attend Bible camp at Camp Onomia.
