Music

We offer a variety of music-making opportunities at GA. Whether you are an ensemble musician or a soloist, there is a way to get involved! Please contact Andrew Parr, Director of Worship and Music, for more details.

Chancel Choir

Our Chancel Choir is the heartbeat of our Sanctuary Worship service.  This 25-30 member ensemble rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:45-8:00pm.  The Chancel Choir sings anthems in a variety of styles: everything from Mozart to Pote, Faure to Cherwien, and Dawson to Hagenberg.  Participation is open to anyone who loves to sing, high-school age and older!  The ability to read music is helpful, but not required.

New Life Band

New Life Band provides worship leadership for our New Life Worship service.  The ensemble currently features guitar, electric bass, keyboard, vocalists, and percussion.  We are always open to adding different instrumentation and have featured woodwind, strings, and mandoline in the past!  The ensemble typically rehearses on Sunday mornings at 10:30am.  Music is eclectic, featuring worship songs by writers like David Crowder and Chris Tomlin, gospel music both current and historic, and folk hymns with updated instrumentation.  Musicians of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.

Handbell Ensemble

The Handbell Ensemble at GA provides music in worship several times each year.  The group rings three octaves of bells and meets on a “project” basis – typically 4-6 rehearsals and a Sunday of playing in one or two services.  We welcome (and feature) youth and adults in this wonderful music making opportunity.

Special Music

Special Music happens throughout the year, and especially in the summer.  We feature solo vocalists and instrumentalists of all ages to share their gifts of music with our congregation.
